MOUNTAIN TRAINING ON THE MONTE GRAPPA MASSIF - A Multinational CIMIC Group platoon carried out a orienteering activity in the Venetian Pre-Alps, paying particular attention to the historical and cultural sites related to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. The whole activity lasted two days, with an overnight at high altitude. On the first day the personnel conducted a recce on the Col Moschin mountain and visited an open-air museum. The second day they climbed to the peak of Monte Grappa and visited the Military Memorial.
OPERATIONAL COMMITMENT - The role of Multinational CIMIC Group is to engage in the civil and military cooperation giving full support to the NATO military Commander on the field. MNCG could be tasked to operate in Collective Defense Operations under Article 5 of the NATO, in Multinational Crisis Response Operations and in support of Humanitarian Operations.Multinational CIMIC Group could be used for NATO purposes at very short notice. 

On 15th April, an Italian Senate delegation represented by Senator Mauro Del Vecchio and Senator Carlo Pegorer paid a visit to Multinational CIMIC Group. The Commandant, Colonnel Antonello Vespaziani, welcomed the delegation with a presentation about MNCG organization, tasks and operational commitments, activities in Afghanistan and Lebanon and with a guided visit of the barracks. The Senate delegation appreciated Multinational CIMIC Group work very much expressing to all MNCG personnel recognition for their high professionalism in the efforts spent by its assets in all overseas missions and praising the efficiency of this NATO unit about Civil Military Cooperation, matter in which the MNCG is also a Permanent Consultation Forum and Center of Expertise.

NATO CIMIC Functional Specialist Course - The course is open to NATO, Partnership for Peace, Mediterranean Dialogue personnel and to civilians engaged or interested in humanitarian activities. The aim of the course is to provide the functional specialists (FS) and all the attendees, with a basic understanding of the principle tasks, functions and organization of CIMIC in NATO, and to enable the FS to fulfill his special duty as a member of MNCG, especially in crisis response operations (CRO).
