The Multinational CIMIC Group recalls Lieutenant Giovanni Pezzulo

Today, at "Mario Fiore" barracks, home of the Multinational CIMIC Group, took place the ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the death of the Lieutenant Giovanni Pezzulo, fell in Afghanistan on February 13th 2008. The mayors of Motta di Livenza and Oderzo, the Engineers and Signals Corps Associations together with the family members of Lieutenant Pezzulo were also present to the ceremony.

The commemorative day was carried out with the Honors to the Fallen, the deposition of a wreath of flowers and the expose of a plate, coming from Afghanistan, with which it was named the main square of the barracks to Lieutenant Giovanni Pezzulo. At the end of the commemoration, concluded with a Mass celebrated by the Military Chaplain Don Angelo Sacchiero, the Commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group thanked Lieutenant Giovanni Pezzulo’s family and the Local Authorities underlining how the presence of the community is a clear evidence of a still alive memory.

The CIMIC operators of the Multinational CIMIC Group, a Joint and Multinational Unit, specialized in civil-military cooperation, are currently employed both in International Operations such as Kosovo, Lebanon, Somalia, Djibouti, Afghanistan and Mediterranean Sea (“Operation Sophia”) and in homeland security operation (“Strade Sicure”).
